Veterans Thanksgiving
A community Thanksgiving gathering & meal
One hundred free Thanksgiving meals at CopenRoss. Doors open at noon so there's time to sit down, meet neighbors and fellow veterans, and settle in before dinner.
Come early. Stay a while.
This is a Thanksgiving gathering, not a serving line. The doors open an hour before dinner for exactly that reason.
Come in, get comfortable, meet neighbors and fellow veterans, and spend some time together before dinner.
A free traditional Thanksgiving meal: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls, vegetables, gravy and pie.
Twenty-five prepared meals go out into the Boise community for unhoused neighbors who can't join us in person.
Stop by the bar after you've eaten and tell us you served. No proof, no paperwork. We'll take your word for it.
A brief Thanksgiving blessing is offered before dinner. Everyone is welcome, whatever you believe.
You don't have to qualify for a seat
If you're a veteran, if groceries are tight this year, or if you'd otherwise spend the day alone, this is for you. Come as a guest.
- Veterans and their families
- Neighbors experiencing food insecurity
- Anyone who'd otherwise spend Thanksgiving alone

Meals that leave the building
Twenty-five of the meals are prepared specifically for unhoused neighbors who may not be able to join us at CopenRoss. Same meal, same care, delivered by volunteers.

Prospective partners shown for placement. Each mark is removed until that organization has confirmed.
Save a seat, or help make it happen
Reserving a seat isn't required to eat with us. It just helps us cook the right number of meals. And a hundred meals takes a neighborhood: we're looking for food donors, restaurant kitchen partners, equipment sponsors and volunteers for the day.
- Donated turkeys
- Restaurant kitchen prep
- Side dishes and desserts
- Beverages
- Tables and chairs
- Chafing dishes & hot holding
- Hotel pans and serving supplies
